My Name is Ms Larri Sheriff Let me help you and your golf with Reiki!
What is Reiki about?
Reiki energy has several basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in the form of healing universal life energy, and increases the vibrational frequency of the body, so life moves forward in a positive direction.
Prepare yourself
You will be asked to lay down on a massage table, couch, or bed. You will be fully clothed except for your shoes. You may also be asked to remove or loosen your belt so that your breathing is not restricted in any way. It is best to choose loose-fitting garments to wear on the day of your appointment. Wearing natural fabrics is best (cotton, wool, or linen). You may also be asked to remove any jewelry (rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.) prior to the session, so consider leaving these items at home.
Healing Touch
The Reiki practitioner will place her hands lightly on the seven energy centers, or Chakras, of the body. Some practitioners will follow a predetermined sequence of hand placements, allowing their hands to rest on each body placement for 2 to 5 minutes before moving on to the next. Empathic practitioners will freely move their hands in no particular order to the areas where they "feel" Reiki is most needed. Some Reiki practitioners do not touch their clients. They will hover their lifted palms a few inches above the reclined body. Either way, Reiki energies flow where they are suppose to. Reiki is a smart energy that automatically flows where the imbalances are in your body regardless of where the practitioner’s hands are placed. LARRI SHERIFF( BN RN REIKI PRACTITIONER)
The name REIKI originates from Japanese- REI (universal, spirit) KI (energy, life force) Reiki therapy utilizes universal energy to assist the healing process. Healing can occur on physical, emotional or spiritual levels. Reiki as a modern healing method was initiated at the beginning of the 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui ( 1865 - 1926), a Japanese Buddhist Monk, but it is possible to trace the origins back to Buddhist healing practices. REIKI is an energy. When we use it in healing, it acts on the whole body, affecting all the energies which comprise the human body or animals or anything else in the natural world. Einstein and later quantum physicists have explained that at an atomic level, everything that exists in the Universe is energy. Some of these energetic vibrations we are familiar with are sound, light, radio waves and X-rays. The difference is that all energies vibrate at different rates. Reiki therapy is safe and non-invasive. During hands-on or distant treatments, the clients and patients experience relaxation, peacefulness and may feel warmth and other subtle and pleasant sensations. The treatment lasts from 15 minutes to 60 minutes with half an hour for history -taking on the first visit. The intention of the Practitioner during the session is to deliver healing energy . The client’s body draws the necessary healing energy and distributes it according to the body’s needs. According to the classification, designed by the National Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Reiki belongs to “Biofield Medicine”, which involves systems that use subtle energy fields in and around the body for medical purposes. In recent medical research on Reiki, it was shown to be beneficial in supporting surgical patient treatments and relief from pain, anxiety, shortness of breath and swelling in the legs from fluid (oedema). Both hands-on and distant Reiki treatments resulted in statistically-significant decrease in the symptoms of psychological depression and stress, and the treatments had the long-term effect. Certain physiological changes were associated with receiving Reiki. These included a decrease in systolic blood pressure. Reiki is already used in many hospitals and Centres around the world. There are also ongoing clinical trials of Reiki healing techniques, for diabetic peripheral vascular disease and Adult Heart Surgery also rehabilitation from stroke and spinal cord injury. What is most interesting is that science has finally confirmed something that has been part of the spiritual wisdom of many cultures, for thousands of years - that an unseen energy flows through and connects all living things. And as a very privileged practitioner I believe Reiki has numerous benefits for we the Golfing public! When you experience an aching knee or shoulder, niggling twinges in the back, especially searching under the bushes for those pesky lost balls, think REIKI! When the hot baths and menthol rubs don’t do the trick on the aching limbs anymore, yes REIKI! It will also ease anxiety on the 1st Tee, and enhance positive attitudes such as, YES, I can sink this next PUTT! Remember, REIKI is one of the fastest- growing, healing modalities in the world, and I am honoured to bring you this information as a Reiki Practitioner and fellow golfer.
